Mixed media painting watercolor over acrylic and water soluble oil, but that was an accident. I do my backgrounds in advance most times and on this one I had accidently painted the gold color in oils. My tubes got mixed up somehow. After some time, I decided to paint this horse on the background and had forgotten it had oils on it. I wanted to do watercolor over acrylic, but the oils on the background marbled the watercolor and, yes, that did freak me out at first. That was when I realized that I was painting over oil. After a panicking moment, I realized that it caused a dapple grey affect. I liked it and decided to seal it with acrylic matt sealer to save it. Then finished the painting with pastel pencils. An example of a happy accident.
