I drew the composition for this painting with my one-year-old daughter sitting beside me,. She was so attentive and didn't move a muscle, but watched my every move as I drew. The still life, that was my inspiration, was set up as a holiday decoration and didn't have an outdoor feel to it, so I added the leaves and vines to make it feel more like pumpkins in a pumpkin patch.
The original painting sold to a poet that lives nearby me. This poet added this painting to her seasonal collection and, when not in the fall season, she stores it in a climate controlled room. I love knowing that the original is so well taken care of.
