A ballerina resting on the edge of a stage. Her contemplative stature gives off a somber mood which is in complete contrast with the active and vibrant color pallet. Perhaps that very contrast is what gives it an intriguingly, emotive feeling. To me the yellow represents hope. There is always hope. It surrounds us much like the happy, dancing colors around her. Put your dancing shoes on, stand up and dance with hope, ballarina. You were built for this moment. Embrace hope and dance. The more you dance, the more you will believe it is there. This painting has an acrylic background. The girl and the drippy paint is done in watercolor after the acrylic dried. Once the watercolor dried, the painting was sealed with a spray on varnish. Excellent piece for feminine decor whether it is for an office space or your home.
