Description
During the painting of this study, I learned a few things about watercolor pencils and using Permanent White watercolor paint. I decided a long time ago to use my watercolor pencils as colored pencils because I didn't know how to use them any other way. I discovered by accident on this painting that they should be used in wet paint. I loved how smoothly it applied and I am definitely going to do that again. The shadow was not to my liking so I added white while the paint was still wet. Until this painting, I never painted with white in watercolor. Now, I use white all the time.
This painting was painted in a minimalitic style and is a great piece of art for country kitchen decor.
For a more sophisticated, clean-line look, get a print on metal or acrylic.
