Description
A sand sculpture I created while on vacation in Hawaii. I would have liked to complete it, but my fair skin was burning and it was time to go. The sand was lovely to work with. Just the right amount of moisture. She came alive right before my eyes. I'm sure she slipped back into the sea, but when I left she was still basking in the sun and entertaining passerbys.
Of all the beaches we visited while being on the big island, I would say that Hapuna State Park was one of the best. We were there in the month of July and is apparently the time when sharks come closer to shore to eat turtles and give birth because the water is nice and warm. The water was bath tub temperature and fabulous to swim in, but Tiger shark sightings are frequent and the waters at public beaches like this are forbidden to be used when a shark is sighted for good reason. This day there were no sharks so we enjoyed the water, the turtles as well as playing in the sand.
Frame this card and add this intriguing mermaid I sculpted to your beach-themed decor or just because you like mermaids. Give it as a gift or an invitation.
