Description
The wind is in and the tide is out.
Northwest beaches are lined with a mix of fir trees and deciduous trees, the water is chilly, and the beaches are mostly rocky. There are a few sandy beaches on the Puget Sound, like The Narrows Park in Gig Harbor and the West side of Penrose State Park; which is also good for skim boarding.
Whether they are sandy or rocky, the beauty of the Pacific Northwest beaches is still unsurpassed.
In the winter, low clouds and fog give them another feel unique to the Northwest. When the wind picks up, bending the trees making the water choppy, I like to snuggle up by a fire with something warm to drink and a good book.
I love emotional skies and there is nothing like a storm brewing over a Northwestern shoreline.
