The Red Queen.
See how many hearts you can find.
My version of the queen of hearts face card. It's high time playing cards got a facelift don't you think? The dripping red paint on the rose and the flamingo are pulled from Alice In Wonderland. As you may remember the gardeners accidently planted white roses and to keep themselves from getting into trouble, they painted them red, but the queen found out and it was 'off with their heads!'. The flamingo was the queen's croquet mallet.
I was worried about adding color to this one, but it turned out. In keeping with the traditional playing card queen, I kept her face, hair and hands white.
I also have wearable art with several different versions designed with this image. See them and the others at www.oarttee.com/artist/janifreimann
Expressive Portraits Of Animals And People: Jani is an award winning water media/graphite artist who paints and draws people and animals in a loose, painterly style she calls impressionistic realism. "I love playing interesting colors against each other; creating movement and texture with all the different medias mixing the medias as needed to add another layer of character and depth. It fits my adventurous spirit." She intentionally leaves a little to the viewer's imagination so they can be a part of her emotive, story-telling artwork. Jani is accomplished in a variety of medias and offers her fine art skills for pet portrait commissions in graphite, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic and oil. More Here. COMMISSIONS/LICENSING: E-MAIL...
