Sketch of a rearing stallion. This study is part of my series of horse drawings. I started doing these drawings as preliminary value sketches to paintings on canvas.
The paper this is drawn on is a wonderful, smooth, 100% cotton vellum with a paper bag shade of brown. I love working on this paper. The paper is thick, resilient and the sepia tone it gives the horses only enhances them.
