Description
Junco On Stilts, 4x4, Water Mixable Oils on Aquabord. I don't recommend that type of panel for WMO. Use gesso board or canvas. I thought, why can't you use Aquabord for this type of oils? You can, obviously, because I did it, but it takes building layers of foundation to paint on as the surface is resistant at first. Better to just use the proper substrait.
Saying that reminds me of something. As you have maybe noticed, I kind of have a weird sense of humor. I used to call these kind of birds executioner birds because of their black-hooded head. They are tiny, fragile birds that wouldn't harm a flea...well, yes, they probably would do that come to think of it. Insects probably would agree as well.
Okay, so about the title. He's not really on stilts, but stradled between reeds. We can all relate to this bird, I think. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Straddled between two precarious decisions. Needing to let go, but just can't yet. In a place of unsure footing... I'm kindof going through something like that right now. We humans hold on so tight to things that waiver and bend at the slightest breeze. To be able to recieve the new we have to first let go of the old. My grandmother used to say, "Take and do." That is excellent advice.
Maybe the word executioner does actually fit this particular bird after all. No more procrastination. No more wavering. No more over thinking.. Just take and do.
