Description
A Cairn is a rock sculpture used as a trail marker or a memorial. This photo contains two of my favorite things about Washington's Dungenus Spit. Rocks and driftwood.
There seems to be an infinite amount of these two objects at this beach. Most every rock on this beach is smooth and flat enough to stack. The driftwood comes in all sizes. From a small stick to a whole tree trunk. This photo shows only a portion of the massive tree trunk.
These rocks were stacked by me knowing full well that they wouldn't last. Eventually they will get knocked over by the strong breezes that blow in this area or by the incoming tide.
